01.09: Ferroin Quick Lab
Ok, before you even go one step further… there were a few challenges editing this video. The microphone I was using died. Cold. I’d plug it in, and crank all the volume settings, wiggle the plug, everything. It was barely audible. It was late, and I really wanted to get this video out. It was a self-issued challenge to film and edit and post in the same day. So I found an old microphone that I’ve been told over and over is horrible.
And boy, is it.
I did a halfway decent job talking the first half of the video, then I don’t know. I must have gotten tired of holding the microphone right up to my face. There are parts of this that are really hard to hear. I’m sorry. I thought about redoing the sound and re-uploading, but I felt like this video isn’t really critical to my library. It’s using up 12 mL of a long-expired indicator.
So here it is…
The other reason I’m not redoing the sound: there are six reactions. Only one and a half of them actually do something. Not particularly exciting, though I was very pleased with the knowledge I gained from this.
I was also pleased that this was full on experiment mode! I had no idea what was going to happen, though I did have a hypothesis. And my hypothesis was proven almost completely wrong!
At any rate, the potassium phosphate video is giving me some trouble too. I’m going to run out and get a new microphone, so the next video should be a lot better. Hopefully in content, too.
Talk to you soon!
Oh, sorry, mic gave out…
